The truth is that it is possible that one of the members of the trio at an event is on his first contract with the group. As professional musicians, we have the ability to learn quite a large repertoire in a short time. However, it is true that the regular team will always be a little more solid due to its experience and knowledge of the repertoire.
Here is the story of the jazz trio and its development.
The project started when the band was contacted to do 5 hours of non-stop music at a grocery store. The challenge is quite colossal, especially for the fingers of the guitarist and the mouth of the saxophonist. The duo therefore had the idea of drawing from their dance repertoire in order to fill the large time slot of the contract. So that’s when they start playing the great jazz and popular classics with special arrangements: Beatles, Bruno Mars, Frank Sinatra, The Police, etc.
The group then had the idea of adding a double bass to their color palette in order to make the formula closer to a real jazz ensemble. They therefore continue to refine their arrangements and their repertoire to satisfy the audience of Christmas parties and corporate evenings in both Montreal and Quebec.
After almost 5 years, the group now offers the possibility of a turnkey package with sound system, wireless microphone, and jazz playlist for music throughout the evening. They are now the reference in terms of cocktail band and background music, which makes them the best jazz band in Montreal in the corporate field!
